Introduction
Je travaille beaucoup en décembre. I work a lot in December.

Le 14 février, c'est la Saint Valentin. Valentine’s day is on the 14th of February.
La pièce de théâtre commence à 20h. The play starts at 8pm.
Nous avons une réunion de service le lundi de 10h à 12h30. We have a team meeting on Mondays from 10 to 12:30.
Construction
To locate in time with the year, the season or the month, use « en » :
- Je suis né en 1980.
I was born in 1980.
- J'aime faire du ski en hiver et du bateau en été.
I like skiing in winter and sailing in summer.
- Les enfants rentrent à l'école en septembre.
Children go back to school in September.
To locate in time with the day, note :

See you Tuesday !
- J'arrive jeudi matin.
I arrive Thursday morning.
- Notre séminaire commence mercredi 3 septembre.
Our seminar starts on Wednesday 3rd of September.
Regular events:
- Tarif réduit le lundi pour les étudiants.
Reduced rates on Mondays for students.
- Paul ne porte pas de cravate le vendredi.
Paul doesn’t wear a tie on Fridays.

Do not confuse:
Je ne travaille pas samedi. = je ne travaille pas samedi prochain. I don’t work on Saturday. = (meaning) I am not working next Saturday
Je ne travaille pas le samedi. = je ne travaille jamais le samedi, tous les samedis, c'est une habitude. I don’t work on Saturdays. = (meaning) I never work on Saturdays, every Saturday, it is a habit.
To locate in time with the hour, note :
Punctual time :
- Notre avion arrive à 15h30.
Our plane lands at 15 :30.
- Le magasin ouvre à 9h45.
The shop opens at 9 :45.
The time interval :
- Nous sommes en réunion de 8h30 à 12h30.
We are in a meeting from 8 :30 to 12 :30.
- Le secrétariat est ouvert de 9h à 19h30.
Reception is open from 9 am to 7 :30 pm.
